In addition to specific activities on offer, the festival features a Swiss Guides exhibit, which explores how Western Canada's early Swiss pioneers shaped the existing mountain culture.

This annual event is sanctioned by the National Ice Carving Association (NICA) and is held each January at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. In front the renowned lake and Mount Victoria, over 10 teams of international carvers convene to transform 2-m (7-ft) blocks of ice into magical sculptures, which then last the remainder of the winter season. The event is held over three days and features carving demonstrations, speed competitions, children's activities, magic shows and more.
