Beginning from the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, follow a five-kilometre hike up a steep trail to one of the most picturesque tea houses. Accessible only by hike, the tea house is a 1925-wood-framed building with a very rustic decor serving as a perfect spot to rest weary feet and to feast the eyes on a specatucular mountain panorama at an elevation of 7,000 feet. The menu is simple, featuring tea, scones, sandwiches and lemonade. They are open only in the summer. Be sure to bring cash.
Looking out over the icy blueness of the lake from the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, the aptly named Lakeview Lounge features an elegant setting for whiling away the afternoon.
