Detailed Trail Information

Beginning at the shores of Lake Louise, Lake Agnes trail leads the hiker up through magnificent old-growth forest. It is a climb, but a very moderate one. After about half an hour of hiking, a vista over Lake Louise opens up on the left. The colour of the lake can be awe-inspiring. Continuing through the forest, Mirror Lake is a good place to stop and look up. The waterfall coming out of Lake Agnes can be heard above before the teahouse can be spotted, located at the base of the Big Beehive.
From Mirror Lake there are trails that climb up on either side of the waterfall. Choose one side to ascend and one to descend (the left hand side is steeper, but no horses). The right hand side features great views as the trail passes through a number of avalanche paths. Wildflowers will be blooming in these openings from late July to early August. The Lake Agnes area also connects to the Little and Big Beehive trails.
